Formed in 2015 by Rev. Fr. Jose Kokandathill, the Syro Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) of Our Lady of Sorrows (OLS) unit remains an active and integral part of the church. The youth members contribute significantly through various initiatives — from cleaning the church to organizing events and community programs.
SMYM is the official youth movement of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church, representing over 1.6 million Catholic youth worldwide. It was officially inaugurated on August 30, 2014, following years of coordination efforts led by the Laity Commission since 2011.
