Our Lady of Sorrows (OLS) Parish Church in Hebbagodi began in 2001 with Syro-Malabar liturgical services led by the MSFS Fathers to serve the growing Christian community in the Electronic City area. It was officially established as a parish on 15 September 2002 by Archbishop Ignatius Pinto, with Fr. Mathew Kalathinkal as its first Vicar. As the parish expanded, more Masses and catechism classes were introduced. In 2016, a church trust was formed to manage land and legal matters, leading to the blessing of a new chapel in Singena Agrahara and the laying of the foundation stone for a new church in 2018. The church land was officially registered in 2021, and Fr. Mathew Elayadathamadam MSFS became the Vicar. Today, OLS Parish is an active Syro-Malabar church under the Mandya Diocese, offering regular services and pastoral care.
We are blessed to be in the Jubilee Year, a special time of grace, renewal, and thanksgiving in our Church. The jubilee period, spanning from 2001 to 2026, marks a significant milestone in our journey of faith celebrating 25 years of spiritual growth, service, and communion within the Church.

We invite you to support the parish by making a donation towards the construction of the church and the regular maintenance of parish activities. Your generous contribution will be utilized for the ongoing church construction, assisting the needy, and sustaining the day-to-day functions and services of the parish.
The catechetical heritage of the Syro-Malabar Church is as ancient as the Church itself. Like other Christian traditions, the St. Thomas Christians also nurtured a system of catechesis through which the faith was passed on from generation to generation. However, a comprehensive and chronological account of the history of catechesis in the Syro-Malabar Church is not available. Much of it must therefore be reconstructed from historical documents and preserved through the living traditions of the Church.
The Diocese of Mandya has launched the Samaritans of Mandya (SoM) app to coordinate Good Samaritan Ministry activities and provide quick emergency assistance to all diocesan members. Through the app, users can raise help requests, which automatically share their location and alert the nearest three parish units, the requester’s parish, and the Diocesan team. Volunteers are then assigned to respond, with full visibility for both the requester and diocesan coordinators. The app also allows continuous tracking and follow-up of each case until closure and includes an SOS feature for urgent emergencies.
